About us:
Mediwhale is an AI healthcare company that predicts risks of cardiovascular, renal, and metabolic (CVRM) diseases using retinal biomarkers. The eye is the only organ that allows direct, non-invasive observation of blood vessels, providing essential insights into systemic health. Mediwhale offers retinal-based AI solutions that assess future health risks. The company obtained Korean medical device approval in August 2022 and has been available for non-reimbursed prescriptions in medical institutions since June 2023.
Responsibilities:
- Global Business Partnerships & Deal Execution
- Identify and engage key decision-makers at global pharmaceutical and medical device companies to build meaningful partnerships
- Design partnership and collaboration models beyond simple technology licensing, tailoring deal structures to different partner types
(e.g., co-promotion with pharmaceutical companies, software supply to hardware manufacturers, service launches within global retail or healthcare networks) - Lead negotiations and contract execution, managing the full process from initial term sheets to definitive agreements
- Business Strategy Development & Execution
- Conduct market and competitive analysis, including competitor activities, technology and patent landscapes, and market entry barriers, to define differentiated value propositions
- Evaluate the feasibility of new products and business opportunities by analyzing market size, profitability, and execution pathways
- Support internal decision-making by closely coordinating external partnership initiatives with R&D and internal teams, and by preparing strategic materials to support the CEO’s decision-making
Qualifications:

- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a strategy consultant (MBB, local, or boutique firms) or in corporate strategy / business planning roles
- Core competencies:
- Problem-solving: Ability to structure complex business problems, develop logical hypotheses, and derive optimal solutions
- Fast learner: Ability to quickly grasp unfamiliar industries (e.g., pharma or biotech) and translate insights into practical business language
- Communication: Business-level English proficiency and strong communication skills for working with global partners
Preferred:
- Experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare industries, such as pharmaceutical BD roles or healthcare strategy projects
- Hands-on deal experience, including leading M&A, licensing, or joint venture partnerships
- Startup experience, with a proven ability to define roles autonomously and deliver results in ambiguous and fast-changing environments
